I wanted to write in with an update about our cat who we adopted from you in 2020:
When we adopted Ophelia (formerly Michelin) a year and a half ago she was semi-feral and not comfortable around humans. The first several months we had her she hid most of the day, and would not allow anyone to touch her, sometimes hissing and swatting if approached. At times we were worried that she would never become domesticated, but we continued to work at building her trust and making her comfortable in her new home.
It took almost a year to get where we are today, but our little girl is now a whole new cat. She is super affectionate and loves to play, cuddle, and be brushed. She loves to be the center of attention, and she will often wrap her front paws around our legs and hug them until we pet her. It is hard to believe that this is the same cat who used to wait for us to sleep to come out and play!
We love her so much, and while it was a lot of work, we are so happy that we chose her. We know that others may have similar experiences, and we hope that our story can be shared with them to reassure that with a lot of effort and a lot of love, even the biggest scaredy cats can become part of the family.
